About the project

Makariv medical professional college is located in the village of Makariv, Kyiv region, st. Shlyakhetska, 25. The college was established by separating from Kyiv Medical School No. 1 in 1956.

Fierce fighting continued in the village of Makariv, 50 kilometers from Kyiv, during March 2022. According to preliminary estimates of the local authorities, the village was destroyed by approximately 40 percent. Russian troops, passing through populated areas in the direction of Kyiv, carried out chaotic shelling of residential buildings. There were no military or strategic facilities on the territory of the Makariv Territorial Community and there are none. Therefore, it is difficult to explain the scale of destruction that was inflicted on Makarov and nearby settlements.

The war made its merciless “corrections”. The dormitory of the Makariv Medical College was seriously damaged. The overwhelming majority of orphans, children from low-income and large families, and children of combatants live in the hostel. For many years, the dormitory was home to students, our nurses and paramedics who came from all over Ukraine. They acquired solid knowledge, received diplomas, one generation replaced another.

Over the years of its existence, the college has trained more than 6,000 junior medical specialists who work in all regions of Ukraine.

About the project

Now it is almost impossible to enter the dormitory without tears. And it is also very painful to understand that the educational institution will not be able to cope with the reconstruction on its own.

Therefore, we ask for help

Any support is important to us. We will be infinitely grateful for everything: perhaps building materials or financial assistance.

The dream is to see the light in every window, to see happy students there, to see life where they wanted to uproot it. And dreams come true.
